MAF hosts Summer Aviation Camp for Teens

Group has based from Cascade Airport since 2008

Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) recently completed its 2012 summer aviation camp in Cascade, ID. Twelve students (males and females) ages 14–18 participated in the week long camp, which included daily flights with experienced pilots, project workshops, spiritually enriched discussions, and fun activities designed specifically for teens.

The camp was located adjacent to Cascade Airport, and three aircraft—Luscombe, Super Cub, Cessna 172XP—provided daily training flights from the airport. The daily schedule typically involved flying in the mornings, recreational activities in the afternoons, and music, worship, and testimonials from pilots in the evenings. Campers also participated in model airplane building, whitewater rafting/tubing, zip lines, and bonfires.

Headquartered in Nampa, ID, MAF partners with Brigade Air, Inc. to lead these camps, which are usually held in July. Another aviation camp is planned in 2013.  For more information, contact Becky Lee.
